Overcoming Inevitable Obstacles

Nixcavating is a Longmont based and family-run company founded by owner Scott Nix in 1982. He started the company with a broken backhoe and a determination to work for himself, and over the years, he has acquired some very valuable project management experience, a large heavy equipment fleet, and priceless personnel. We currently have around 25 employees, with nearly a third of them being with Nixcavating for almost a decade.

We take great pride in the outcome of our work, and our ability to overcome the inevitable obstacles that arise during any construction project. Our Project Managers and Job Supervisors do their best on each project to ensure they get the job done as best, as quickly, and as cost efficiently as possible. The “can-do” spirit and work ethic we bring to projects is a testament to our goal of providing exceptional customer service.
