Homeowner Resources
You take pride in your home, and we take pride in our work. Notice the difference when you let us be your trusted guide through your project.
Most of our employees are home and property owners in the area, so we have first-hand knowledge of the headache caused by unexpected repairs or bureaucratic building regulations and permit requirements. We will do our best to help guide you through these foreign experiences, and with your trust, recommend the best course to get you to your desired outcome. We understand the pride you have in your home and its surroundings, and we will do our best to be as respectful as possible while there.

Emergency Water & Sewer Line Repair Services
An issue with an underground utility, such as a leak in your water line, or a blockage in your sewer line, can wreak havoc on not only your home and property, but also your bank account. In addition to being an unforeseen expense, we understand these situations can be a foreign experience and stressful problem. We always do our best to respond to these emergency situations as soon as possible, and homeowners can rest assured – we’ve seen the problem before, and we know just what to do to fix it.
When you have a leak or blockage at your home – we know “we’ll get there as soon as we can” is not the answer you’re looking for. Please give us a call, and we will do our best to mobilize a utility crew and equipment to your property as soon as we can, and if we just can’t make it happen – we’ll let you know that too. We understand your need, and are willing to work nights, holidays and weekends to make sure you’re back in service.

Sewer Line Back Up
Read our informative blog post for more details and tips on what to do when your sewer line backs up.
- STEP #1: Determine if the blockage is inside your home, or somewhere between your house and the City sewer mainline. If sewer water comes up through your basement floor drain or bathtub, you likely can skip calling a plumber, and go straight to getting your line cleaned and camera’d.
- STEP #2: Hire a trusted professional to clean, camera and locate your line. If you don’t know of anyone, please call us, and we can recommend someone we’ve worked with and trust.
- STEP #3: Give us a call, and pass along the information you received from getting your line cleaned, camear’d, and located. We’ll then discuss with you your options for repair and replacement.
Septic Tank Tips & Facts:
- Pump your septic tank every 2 – 4 years
- Septic Systems have an average life of 30 years
- Do NOT put anything except bath tissue into your system
- Do NOT use caustic drain cleaners for a clogged drain, rather try boiling water or a pipe snake
- Do NOT allow vehicle or livestock traffic on your septic system
- Do NOT plant anything over or near the drain except grass – larger plant roots can damage or clog lines
What to expect when you hire Nixcavating to repair your utility service:
- Once the work is agreed upon, and after all public service utility locates are completed, Nixcavating will arrive to your home within a predetermined time frame.
- For emergency work, we will have to wait until there is a crew on-site before we’re able to call for emergency locates. Unfortunately, no work can take place until all relevant utilities have been marked or cleared.
- After the utility locates are complete, our utility crew will immediately get to work exposing the pipes, so we’re able to see what the real issues are. Often, until we get a view underground, all we can do is speculate on how to fix the problem.
- After we have exposed the pipe and are able to repair the issue, we’ll do our best to clean up and replace all landscaping as detailed on the estimate.
- Please keep in mind our priority is to fix your line as efficiently as possible, so if you have any concerns about your sidewalk or landscape – please address them at the time of your estimate.
Residential Work Guarantee:
We offer a 100% guarantee on all of our work, and the supplies and materials we use, for up to 5 years*. If you have any issues regarding your pipe repair or installation, or if there is any unnatural dirt settling – let us know, and we will make it right – for FREE. We believe there is only one way to do things – the right way. Give us a call and find out what that means for your home.
*Guarantee only applies to the direct work area we encounter, e.g. for a spot sewer repair, we will only guarantee the section of the line we fixed, not the entire sewer line. No payment, or late payment in excess of 60 days, makes our guarantee on the project null and void.
